Lady Gaga Nearly Breaks Neck at EMAs, Lands 4 Awards

Though she's managed to stay out of the limelight lately, Lady Gaga came back with a bang at this year's MTV Europe Music Awards in Belfast, scoring four wins, dancing on top of the moon, and nearly breaking her neck in the process.

While most of the buzz surrounding the event has revolved around the streaker who showed off his birthday suit to Hayden Panettiere, the night firmly belonged to Gaga. Not only did she bring home gongs for Best Female, Best Song, Best Video, and Biggest Fan, but she also put on one hell of a live performance.

As half-naked men danced below and fireworks blasted off behind her, the singer belted out her new single "Marry the Night" from the top of a gigantic moon sculpture. Though the electropop song itself debuted poorly at the No. 79 position on the charts, Gaga's fantastically theatrical rendition caused the audience to erupt in adulation.

Yet, as triumphant as her night was, things reportedly could have ended horribly for the star. After accepting the first of her four awards, Gaga and her trademark platform heels headed back to their seat in the audience. Everything looked fine, until the singer nearly took a perilous tumble

Thankfully, Mother Monster maintained her balance and got out of Norther Ireland's Odyssey Arena unscathed. And for an artist who spent the evening dancing on the moon, we imagine she left the place thanking her lucky stars.
