The biggest names in Latin music gathered last night at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas for the 12th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards, while 11.1 million viewers tuned in to all or part of the live three-hour broadcast on the Univision Network. Last night’s broadcast delivered an average audience of 5.7 million Total Viewers 2+ and positioned Univision as the No. 1 broadcast network for the entire night among Adults 18-34 for the second consecutive year.
Now in its third consecutive year from Las Vegas, this year’s Latin GRAMMY Awards, co-hosted by Cristián de la Fuente and Lucero, showcased an unprecedented number of performances by Latin music’s top stars, combined with some of the most outstanding acts this city has to offer. Performers included Pepe Aguilar; Pablo Alborán; Alex, Jorge Y Lena; Calle 13; Cristian Castro; Franco De Vita with Alejandra Guzmán; Gustavo Dudamel; Paula Fernandes; Intocable; Los Tigres Del Norte with Paulina Rubio; La Orquesta Sinfonica Simon Bolivar de Venezuela; Demi Lovato; Maná with Prince Royce; Pitbull with Marc Anthony; Reyli; Romeo Santos with Usher in their first live television debut together; the 2011 Latin Recording Academy person of the year, Shakira; Sie7e; Marco Antonio Solís; Taboo of the Black Eyed Peas and Wisin y Yandel.
.The glamour of the evening was evident early on as thousands of devoted Latin music fans lined the arrivals area outside the Mandalay Bay Events Center for a glimpse of their favorite artists. The star-studded extravaganza was also broadcast with English-language closed-captions, allowing all to enjoy this annual celebration of Latin musical artistry.
