Another giant will enter the luxury hotel market in Singapore come 2013: Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of the Westin Singapore Marina Bay, to be located at Asia Square Tower 2, two years from now.
The new Westin will hold claim to the highest hotel lobby in Singapore, so visitors will get to quite literally make an entrance. Occupying the 32th to 46th floor of Asia Square Tower 2, the 305-room Westin Singapore will overlook the glittering skyline of Marina Bay, and feature the signature Heavenly Spa by Westin and an expansive 480 square meter banquet hall.
The hotel will also hold the Gastro Bar Specialty Restuarant and Season Taste restuarants, both of which use soothing, nature-inspired materials such as bamboo and timber paneling for their decor. Other luxe amenities include a gym and business center.
The Westing Singapore's modern design scheme also places emphasis on eco-friendliness, and will utilize sustainable materials - all furtniture used in the guestrooms are "green label" products - and energy-conserving technology, such as motion sensors.
